# How to import tens of resources easily with AI

Paste one prompt into ChatGPT, Claude or Grok and attach your photos. It asks a few questions, then lists everything for you!

A connected assistant can post a listing from just a couple of photos of whatever's sitting in the garage. It can update what's already listed, and if you run a pool it can send the invites too.

Anything a connected assistant does happens straight away and cannot be undone. We can't restore a listing it deletes, and we can't tell you what a description said before it was rewritten. Connect one you trust, and disconnect it in User Settings when you stop using it.

This one's for a shelf or a closet, and it uses the chat app you already have open in your browser. Those apps only take a handful of photos per message, so if you've got a whole room of stuff, the tutorial for hundreds of items will save you a lot of messages. 1. Connect your assistant to ToolPool.Garden if you haven't yet. Each of these walks you through connecting it.

    - [Connect ChatGPT to ToolPool.Garden](https://toolpool.garden/tutorials/connect-chatgpt)
    - [Connect Grok to ToolPool.Garden](https://toolpool.garden/tutorials/connect-grok)

    Already know where it goes? Here's the address.

    ```
    ```
2. Take a photo of each thing. Get the label in the shot when there is one, because that's where the name and the size come from.
3. Start a new chat and switch ToolPool.Garden on for it. In Claude that's the + menu, then Connectors. In ChatGPT, click +, type ToolPool.Garden, and pick it. Grok uses it once it's connected.
4. Paste this prompt, attach up to 10 photos to the same message, and send it. When you've sent every photo, type "that's all" so it knows to start.
    Got more photos than that? Send the rest in your next messages, about 10 at a time, before you type "that's all".

    ```
    I'm sending you photos of things I want to list on ToolPool.Garden (https://toolpool.garden). Please add each item to one of my pools, using the ToolPool.Garden tools. If you don't have those tools, or they need me to sign in, stop and tell me.
    I may send more photos in my next messages. Don't make any listings or show me your list of them until I say "that's all".
    First, call list_pools. If I'm in no pools, stop and tell me to join or start one on the site first. If a pool is marked closed, tell me that nobody can see listings in it right now. Then ask me these in one message, and remind me to say "that's all" once I've sent every photo:
    - Which pool should these go into? Show me the names.
    - Should the listings be public, so anyone can see them when the pool is public, or unlisted, so only pool members can?
    - How protective should they be: low, medium, high, severe or extreme? Low means lend it out freely, and extreme means only under my supervision. Use medium if I don't say.
    - Is there anything in the photos I don't want listed?
    Check what I've already listed with list_my_tools and list_my_supplies, using page_size 100, and read every page. If a photo shows the same physical item as an existing listing (the same unit, not just the same model), keep the existing one and don't list it again.
    Decide whether each item is a tool or a supply. A tool stays whole when it's used, like a drill or a ladder. A supply gets used up, like paint, glue or screws. If you can't tell, ask me, because a listing's kind can't be changed after it's created.
    Several photos of the same thing make one listing. Use the clearest photo, plus up to two more only when they show something the first doesn't, like a label. Several identical tools get a listing each, so each can be borrowed on its own. Several identical containers of a supply make one listing: set capacity to their total, and say how many there are in the description. Skip anything on the prohibited items list at https://toolpool.garden/prohibited-items, and skip a photo when you can't tell what's in it.
    When I say "that's all", show me the list: tool or supply, name, a short description, and which photo goes with each. Wait for me to say go, and use any changes I ask for.
    When I say go, create each listing with the visibility and the protectiveness I chose, and pass pool_ids with my pool so it's shared straight away. Put the brand, product and size in the name when you can read them. Don't guess what you can't read, and don't say something works unless the photo shows it. Leave out names, phone numbers and addresses written on things. For a supply, set amount, capacity and unit. Amount must not exceed capacity. Use the fill level the photo shows, and assume full when you can't tell. When nothing printed gives a quantity, count the items and use a unit like rolls, pairs or boxes.
    Photos: if you can run code that opens the photo files I sent and reaches toolpool.garden, call create_photo_upload for each listing and send that listing's photos to the URL it gives you, one listing per URL. If you can't, or the upload is refused or blocked, don't send photos in the images argument and don't type a photo out as text, even if a reply suggests it. Make the listing without its photo.
    If a call fails, read the error and fix what it says, then try once more. If it's refused because my account has a document to sign, stop and give me the link it names. Never delete or change a listing without asking me first.
    Before you say a photo is on a listing, read the listing back with get_tool or get_supply. Photos take a minute to process, so wait and check again before you call one missing.
    When you're done, give me a list of what you made. Next to each listing, say whether its photo is on it, or which of my photos I should add to it myself.
    ```
5. It asks you a few things, like which pool to use and how careful to be about lending. Then it shows you a list of what it's going to add. Read it before you say go, because fixing a name there takes one message, and fixing it afterwards means editing each listing.
6. Some chat apps can't send your photos up for you. When that happens, it tells you which photo goes with which listing, and you can open each listing in My Tools or My Supplies and add its photo from Edit.
    Claude can usually send them itself, if you let Claude reach ToolPool.Garden in the last step of the Claude tutorial.
7. When it's done, your new listings are on My Tools and My Supplies! Look through them there and fix anything it got wrong.

## Notes

A long chat uses up more of your plan's allowance, so start a new chat every few dozen photos and paste the prompt again. It checks what you've already listed, so nothing gets added twice.

ToolPool.Garden strips the location data from each photo when it's uploaded, and your original files stay as they are.

If the stuff belongs to a group rather than to you, list it from a shared account. [How do I share group-owned tools?](https://toolpool.garden/tutorials/shared-account)

To cut the assistant off, open the Apps page in User Settings and press Disconnect beside it under Connected apps. It stops working straight away. [User Settings](https://toolpool.garden/users/settings/apps)
